Project Ideas
Here are some ideas for school projects and other activities.
Cool Color Mosaic
Here is a project that uses geometric shapes and design and also adds a modern touch.
Supplies You Will Need:
colored pencils or markers
black marker
a sheet of cardstock
a pencil
Steps
1.Draw stick people in different poses on your sheet of cardstock.
2.Draw geometric shapes to fill up the whole paper. Make sure you outline the stick people and leave a tiny gap between each shape.
3.Use a black marker (preferably permanent) to trace over your stick people.
4.Color in all of your shapes using cool* colors. (You could also use warm colors instead.) *Check vocabulary section.
5.Your finished product should be a unique creation all your own!

Paper Meche
Supplies you will need:
tissue paper
paper meche glue/paste
an object to put paper on (balloon, wood, styrofoam shape, etc.)
brush for glue (glue might come with one)
newspaper
Steps:
1.Lay out newspapers, completely covering workspace, and lay out supplies.
2.Cut out a lot of tissue paper shapes. (how many depends on your object)
3.Glue them on one at a time.* You will most likely have to do atleast three layers.
*You must wait for one layer to dry completely before doing the next. Also remember to use thin layers of glue.

Leaves Floating on Water-A Watercolor
1.Gather a couple of leaves from outside.
2.Drop the leaves from a little bit above the paper tracing them where they land. It's okay if they go off the paper.
3.Next use watercolor pencils, tube paints or other watercolors to paint the leaves with a warm color scheme.
4.After that use a cool color scheme to color the water.
*Techniques are after steps and/or in the tips section.
5.You can sprinkle salt over the still wet water to create an effect.
*Use more water and maybe create little puddles of water when you paint the cool colors and it will create a cool blurry and watery effect. Use more water to create a lighter shade and more paint to make the color bolder. There is also special paper to use for watercolors.
